LEANNE TAYLOR, AGE 42
In March 2018, Pay It Forward Bags founder, Leanne, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Whilst in the hospital recovering from her final surgery, she started thinking about how she could “pay forward” all the support and random acts of kindness that had been shown to her throughout the year. From her hospital bed, she was inspired with an idea to create a product that could be “paid forward” to others.
In September 2018, with Christmas fast approaching, she decided to combine her idea for sharing kindness with others with her desire to reduce the waste created by gift wrapping paper, and Christmas Pay It Forward bags were born.
What makes Christmas Pay It Forward Bags unique is a card inside each bag where the giver can note who the gift is “To” and who it is “From.” Each time the bag is gifted, this information is added, creating a log of where the bag has traveled and who has shared in its adventures. Each receiver of the bag (with their gift inside) will see where the bag has come from and how many times it has been paid forward.
At the same time, each giver will be playing their part in reducing the unnecessary waste of disposable wrapping products.
Christmas Pay It Forward bags are a special way to share kindness with others, to connect with the global community, and to help preserve our environment for generations to come.
To support the charity that had supported her, Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA), $1.00 from every bag sold will be happily donated to the cause.
